Travel insurance with Covid “protection” is now being offered although when you dig down into the terms and conditions there are loads of things not covered.
All travel insurance policies vary what they will and won’t cover and many are excluding coronavirus from their policies all together. Policies will not cover you if you have any Covid-19 symptoms when you book your policy, and in some cases when you booked your holiday. Some will also state that the insurance only covers certain areas if your airline, travel company or accommodation can’t reimburse you. Most will also not cover you if you booked your holiday when restrictions of travel to that country are still in place.
We have checked the latest policies, costs and Covid-19 specific conditions to help you narrow down your options.
Please note all prices relate to cheapest options and will be more for travel outside of Europe. Exclusions and areas covered are changing all the time so it is important that you check the terms and conditions before booking – the following list is intended as a guide only, we are not recommending any travel insurance as it is important that insurance covers your individual requirements.
All of the travel insurance listed below includes at least some medical cover for coronavirus. Cancellation cover for coronavirus is shown in the table, again level of cover and exclusions will vary, it is important that you check before you buy.
