September in Review

It has been another incredibly busy month, despite world travel still being on hold.

We wait for the world to open up again and launched all new guides to Malaysia and Singapore and increased our coverage of Vietnam.

We have posted some of our favourite pictures of Angkor Wat, Thai sunsets and the Grand Palace in Bangkok.

We have also told our story of Scuba diving in Thailand.

We are also continuing to update our coverage on COVID-19 in South East Asia and how Cambodia, Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam have reacted to the pandemic

Here are the highlights from September.

Vietnam Content

We have been working hard on improving our coverage on Vietnam. We have added information on Da Nang, Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City (Saigon), Hoi An, Ha Long Bay and the Reunification Express.

Flying to and in South East Asia

Bangkok, Thailand

We have been monitoring flights prices in South East Asia and noticed something interesting. Check out the latest flight trends here.

We have also looked at the busiest and longest flights in the region and the impact that COVID-19 had had on the flight capacity in the region.

Koh Rong and Sihanoukville

We have added more content to our Cambodia section on the website as we look at the home to some of the most incredible beaches and spectacular diving. We also look at the best things to do and where to stay

Thailand Sunsets

Who doesn’t love a sunset?

Thailand does some of the best sunsets in the world.

Here are some of our favourites.

The airline industry has been devastated around the world.

We look at how well, or not, airlines throughout South East Asia have fared and their plans for the future.

South East Asia Tourism Updates

Many South East Asia countries are especially dependent on tourism so COVID-19 has had a massive effect on their economy.

We looked at how tourism has been affected, promotion of domestic tourism and the proposals to re-open the borders to foreign tourists in Malaysia, Singapore and Thailand.

Inspiring Pictures of Angkor Wat

Angkor Wat Archaeological Park

Angkor Wat is one of my favourite places in the world. Possibly even my most favourite.

Pictures can, sometimes, speak a thousand words, so this post featured my favourite pictures from my last visit.

Scuba Diving in Krabi

Back in February this year we finally had the opportunity to go scuba diving in the Andaman Sea.

It was an incredible experience as we swam in crystal clear waters off Koh Phi Phi Ley alongside turtles and thousands of fish.

We launched our coverage of Malaysia with our visitors guide to the country.

With more content to follow we initially published information on when to visit, where to go, entry requirements, currency and language and more.

Singapore

We also launched our Singapore content during September.

This ex British colony is a perfect location for a few days as part of a longer holiday.

However there is so much to see and do here, that it should be seen as a destination in its own right.

10 Best Beaches in Malaysia

This one was tough. There are so many wonderful beaches throughout Malaysia that narrowing it down was difficult.

We did our research, we compared notes and we came out with this top 10 of Malaysia beaches.

Some are busy and lively others are secluded and quiet, some are easy to get to and others take a bit longer to get to.

Travel to South-East Asia, What Are the Options?

Jack’s Flight Club send out regular free emails with incredible worldwide flight deals.

One day, hopefully sooner than later, we will be able to travel to South East Asia again.

In a complete update to our previous post, we look at the current options for travelling to and around South East Asian countries.
