No this is not a post on cricket (50 not out is a cricket term), instead it is a celebration of reaching 50 posts since we launched in July.
Here we look back at some of our, and your, favourite posts as we head towards our next 50.
Where It All Began
The very first post back in July looked back at our last trip to South East Asia.
The world was a very different place back in the middle of February 2020. We could travel freely pretty much anywhere in the world, apart from one or two places in China. A few more people were wearing face coverings but they were still the exception in most places.
By the time our trip ended on the last day of February, things were beginning to change. The UK had put a handful of countries onto a watch list, including Thailand, and our plane was held at Heathrow for about 20 minutes before passengers were allowed to leave.

What is The Future of Travel
A subject we have returned to on a number of occassions.
We started by sharing our story about Booking a Vietnam Holiday During COVID-19 Lockdown, we still don’t know the outcome of this one.
Of course we had plenty of posts that looked at more of our adventures in South East Asia, and beyond.
In February this year we loved Scuba Diving in Krabi, we have visited Bangkok on a number of times and we looked back at our Favourite Things To Do in Bangkok. Talking of favourites we looked at My Favourite Places to Travel and also my Least Favourite Places – there were some surprises for people in both lists. There was also more on my love of a good Thai Massage.
I also looked further back and closer to home with a two part story that detailed a week long road trip through Europe that included Cars, Fires and Money Woes.
We also met Don and Vik.
An Australian couple who started an Asia travelling adventure only to find themselves stranded in Malaysia as the country entered lockdown.
Read their story in Don and Vik’s Covid Adventure – spoiler alert they are in Malaysia until at least the end of 2020.
If you have a story to tell, great recipes, pictures to show off or tips on travelling in South East Asia then use our contact form or complete our write for us form. We are also looking for other organisations or blogs to work with – see our work with us section.
Everyone Loves a List
Where would a travel blog be without a few lists?
When we started the blog we didn’t think we would also be dipping toes into food.
However I have always found that food has been an important part of the experience when travelling, especially with the wonderful on offer in Asia.
It is hard to see aspects of life that haven’t been affected already or are likely to be in the future from the COVID-19 pandemic.
There has been more than 1 million deaths worldwide, and over 18,000 deaths in South East Asia.
Countries have seen multiple lockdowns, economies are being hit hard and the travel and tourism industry is on the brink of collapse in many places.
As part of our coverage we have taken a closer look at the response from Cambodia, Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam. We have regularly updated COVID-19 statistics for the region and kept updated with the travel options and programmes for the region as well as individual reviews on Malaysia, Singapore and Thailand.
A Picture Tells a Thousand Words
We have shared some of our favourite pictures from our travels in our picture specials.
Information, Guides and More
We have also added lots more content to our website pages.
Back in July we started with guides to Thailand and the main resorts.
We have also recently added much more content to our section on Vietnam. We have guides to both Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City (Saigon) as well as to most of the top resorts and tourist attractions including Da Nang, Hoi An, Nha Trang and Phu Quoc. We also have in-depth guides to Ha Long Bay and the Reunification Express.
We will be adding much more content over the coming weeks.
