The USA Department of State have revised their travel advisory for Thailand, moving it into Level 1 – Exercise Normal Precautions.
Despite being the first country outside of China to record a case of Covid-19, the response has gained wide praise for the low number of overall cases and deaths. There have been just 3,998 confirmed cases and 60 deaths so far in Thailand.
Just three other countries have been given the Level 1 status in the USA, Macau, New Zealand and Taiwan.
Travel to Thailand is however still restricted and quarantine required for those given the new STV and TV visa’s. There have been demands for quarantine to be removed for visitors from low risk countries including Macau, New Zealand and Taiwan.
Thailand were recently praised by the World Health Organisation for it’s response to the pandemic, being both rapid and effective at controlling the spread and severity of the outbreak.
