The list of Asia’s 50 Best Restaurants 2021, sponsored by S.Pellegrino & Acqua Panna, was announced on March 25, 2021, via a virtual awards ceremony. 

The Chairman in Hong Kong topped the list but here are the top rated restaurants in the Southeast Asia Region.

2 – Odette, Singapore

Following two years in the top place Odette drops to number 2 and retains the title of The Best Restaurant in Singapore. A mixture of incredible food and best-in-class hospitality, is what makes Odette special.

4 – Le Du, Bangkok, Thailand

Le Du derives from the Thai word for ‘season’ and seasonal Thai ingredients are the focus with a tasting menu of regional dishes with a modern, French twist.

5 – Gaggan Anand, Bangkok, Thailand

The highest new entry in the list from the southeast Bangkok eatery. 

6 – Sühring, Bangkok, Thailand

Using local, seasonal products and luxury ingredients to create a menu of sophisticated, lighter-style bites with a traditional German feel. 

11 – Sorn, Bangkok, Thailand

Southern Thai flavours with a Malaysian influence set in a stately refurbished old house.

13 – Les Amis, Singapore

A trend-setting fine dining restaurant in Singapore that has been setting the standard since 1994.

14 – Burnt Ends, Singapore

Utilising a four-tonne, two-oven brick kiln the majority of dishes benefit from the kiln’s heat and smoke.

20 – Nusara, Bangkok, Thailand

Another new entry for this restaurant offering a traditional menu of authentic Thai dishes.

23 – Zén, Singapore

A Nordic inspired menu in the heart of Singapore.

31 – Cloudstreet, Singapore 

A new entry in the list with a tasting menu offering a taste of Australia and Sri Lankan influences.

39 – Anan Saigon, Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam 

The top Vietnamese restaurant in the list and a new entry offering modern Vietnamese and Asian cuisine combining Southeast Asian street-food flavours with contemporary international techniques.

40 – Labyrinth, Singapore

Serving “neo-Singaporean cuisine” that reinvents local fare for the 21st century with influences from Singapore’s hawker flavours and the city’s terroir. A new entry Labyrinth also earned the Flor de Caña Sustainable Restaurant Award 2021.

41 – Euphoria, Singapore

Only opened in November 2020 but already making the Top 50 list with vegetable-led haute cuisine in a 26 cover restaurant.

42 – Jaan by Kirk Westaway, Singapore

With a distinct British dining influence.

46 – Gaa, Bangkok, Thailand

A fusion of flavours from the India and Thailand, the “modern eclectic cuisine” features in a 10- or 14-course tasting menu.

49 – Toyo Eatery, Manila, Philippines

The only entry in the list from the Philippines features a menu that changes daily and celebrates seasonality and the purity of flavour found in singular ingredients.
