The news that many of us have been waiting for is finally here.
From 1st July vaccinated travellers can visit Phuket in Thailand without the need to quarantine on arrival.
Other areas of Thailand hope to follow suit from October but now is the ideal time to book your Phuket escape before prices start to rise.
Phuket province covers 576 square kilometres and 33 islands of which Phuket Island is the largest and where most tourist destinations are located. The island is linked to the mainland, and the nearby Khao Lak and Krabi Province by the Sarasin Bridge.

They also fly direct to Phuket Airport from Doha making it an ideal option for your Phuket holiday.
June to October are peak monsoon months although only a few days may be affected apart from in September and October when rainy days and total rainfall are at their highest. Temperatures are in the low 30’s/87-89°F.
December to February is peak season in Phuket as the area basks in long sunny days, low humidity and average temperatures in the high 20’s/83-84°F. Rainfall is low with few wet days but like much of Southern Thailand when rain comes it tends to be in short, sharp bursts.
The hot season is March to May with high temperatures into the mid to high 30’s/99-101°F with increasing levels of humidity making it feel even more uncomfortable. Rainfall increases as well with May having some of the highest levels of rainfall.
When you think of the hard partying Phuket it is usually Patong they you have seen and heard about. There are plenty of shopping and drinking opportunities, watersports at the beach and some surprisingly good food options.
Not the place for a quiet, relaxing holiday, but if you want to party, there is probably nowhere better in Thailand.
There are many budget options here alongside a number of more luxurious resorts.

Hotel Clover Patong Phuket is located near the beach and excellent shopping
Grand Mercure Phuket Patong is in the entertainment district and near to the beach
A resort full of contrasts with a busy, bustling and party-fuelled northern end the polar opposite of the more relaxed southern end that includes a number of large resorts spread along the beach front.
A good alternative to Patong if you want the nightlife but also like to escape the crowds and party atmosphere.
Beyond Resort Karon Spend the day playing on the beach then return to dine at one of the 3 restaurants. All 81 individually furnished rooms feature free WiFi and minibars.

The Shore at Katathani Spend the day relaxing on the beach or pampering yourself at The Shore at Katathani’s full-service spa.
A long sandy, palm fringed beach with a good range of shopping, food and nightlife but with a more relaxed atmosphere and never getting too rowdy.
Popular with families and those who do not want to be too far from other attractions and the more lively neighbour Karon.
Kata Yai at the south end is more attractive and sophisticated than its busier, noisier northern end of Kata Noi.

Beyond Resort Kata is located on the beach and in an area with good shopping.
Sawasdee Village is near to the beach and has a full-service spa, a restaurant and an outdoor pool.
With an excellent range of hostels, guesthouse, hotels and resorts from budget to luxury, excellent links to other local towns and attractions and a beautiful beach, Rawai is a great choice.
Retaining it’s Thai charm while still catering to tourists isn’t easy but they have achieved that here which means only a handful of shops and bars alongside some wonderful food options.

Roost Glamping is near to the beach and shopping and has excellent amenities
Bamboo Heaven Home is near the beach and has an outdoor pool, this hotel has a bar/lounge and a snack bar/deli.
From budget hotels to luxury resorts the long sandy beach alongside a wonderful bay has a number of excellent places to eat and a few options for night entertainment, it’s mostly a quiet and relaxed location tough.
Mövenpick Phuket Bangtao is an excellent resort located on the beach and near to local shopping
Banyan Tree Phuket is in a national park and on a lake and is pure luxury.
Dusit Thani Laguna Phuket is located on the beach. All-inclusive stays are available.
The Pavilions Phuket is in a rural area and near the beach.
A luxury area with many large private residences alongside luxury resorts.
The small town offers luxury shops and boutiques. The beach is stunning and secluded and can be a great place to take a snorkel from the beachside.
Twinpalms Phuket is near to the beach and features 3 restaurants, a full-service spa and an outdoor pool.
Pai Tan Villas is located near to the beach
The Surin Phuket is on a secluded beach and has a health club and massage/treatment rooms.
6th Avenue Surin Beach is near to the beach and features a restaurant, an outdoor pool and a fitness centre.
Mai Khao Beach
The longest beach in Phuket at more than 11km long, it is secluded and quiet for long stretches that features a few high-end resorts with not much else in the area apart from the nearby airport – which doesn’t disturb the peace too much.

Quiet, relaxing catering mostly for the older set but with a few resorts now appearing.
Don’t expect much nightlife here unless it is a quiet drink you are after. A pleasant small town is close to the beach.
Surrounded by lush jungle and hills this fishing village feels a world away from Patong.
