Proposals are being prepared that could see changes to some Visa requirements making it easier for long-term tourists and expats in Thailand.
The proposals could see the removal of the requirement for foreigners to notify their whereabouts in Thailand every 90 days.
It is hoped that the changes could help to attract investment and skilled foreign workers into the country as well as increasing tourist spend, especially with older tourists to stay in the country.
The country has an aim to attract 1 million foreign retirees to stay in Thailand over the next few years which is believed could have a significant economic benefit to the country.
The proposals, part of a larger framework, are expected to be presented to the government’s economic panel within the next few weeks.
