Today the Philippines announced a further 10,726 new Covid-19 cases and extended the travel ban on foreign nationals until 30th April.

The travel ban was implemented on 22nd March and was originally due to end on 21st April. However the continuing virus infections has led to the extension as the country tries to bring the pandemic under control.

The only exceptions to the ban are people with valid entry exemption documents issued before 22nd March, diplomats, emergency, humanitarian or medical repatriation cases, spouses and children of Filipinos and seafarers under green lane, crew change programmes.

The pandemic in the Philippines has so far seen 91,971 cases, of which 193,476 are still active cases, and 15,738 deaths including a further 145 recorded today.
