The new flights means more choice for travellers and direct flights as opposed to having to travel via other transport hubs.
Direct flights from London Heathrow to Phuket are due to start in July to coincide with the relaxation of restrictions in the province as part of the Phuket Sandbox.
In Europe Thai Airways are also offering Phuket flights from Berlin, Brussels, Copenhagen, Frankfort, Hamburg, Milan, Paris, Rome, Stockholm, Vienna and Zurich.
The Phuket Sandbox will enable fully vaccinated travellers to visit the province without the need for any quarantine period and is due to start on 1st July. More details on quarantine travel in Phuket.
Thai Airways has been struggling financially for a number of years and the pandemic brought to a head its many problems. Today creditors voted to approve restructuring plans to enable the Thai flag carrier to survive.
