The Vietnam National Administration of Tourism has said that Phu Quoc will reopen next month to fully vaccinated tourists from Europe, the U.S., Northeast Asia, Australia, and the Middle East, who have successfully controlled Covid-19 and boast high vaccination rates.

The original plan had been for Phu Quoc to reopen earlier this month but a slow vaccination rate on the island meant that the plan had to be pushed back.

Then from December approved tourists will be allowed to return to key tourism destinations including Ha Long Bay, Hoi An, Nha Trang and Da Lat.

A full reopening would then follow in June next year.

Further details of the plan are not yet available.
