The Asia category of the 2021 World Travel Awards have been announced and a number of Southeast Asia airlines have picked up awards.

The awards means that the winners are in line to win the overall World Awards which will be announced later in the year.
The winners were voted for by travel industry professionals and members of the public.
The big award winner, yet again, is Singapore Airlines who won Asia’s Leading Airline, the 7th time that they have won the award.
The airline beat off competition from Air China, Air India, ANA, Bangkok Airways, Cathay Pacific, China Airlines, EVA Air, Hainan Airlines, Japan Airlines, Korean Air, Malaysia Airlines, Rotal Brunei Airlines, SriLankan Airlines, Thai Airways and Vietnam Airlines.
The airline also celebrated winning the Asia’s Leading Airline Brand and Asia’s Leading Airline Inflight Entertainment Awards.
A massive achievement for this relatively small airline were two very prestigious awards.
Winning the Asia’s Leading Airline Business Class Award will get the attention of not just business leaders but also the highly lucrative business market in the region.
Couple with winning the Asia’s Leading Airline Cabin Crew award which celebrates the incredible friendly and efficient service on the airline which will also help future sales in what is a highly competitive market.
The award for best economy Class is one of the most hotly contested awards and this year Vietnam Airlines took the honours, for the third year running. Previous recent winners Thai Airways and Cathay Pacific were both among the other nominees.
The airline also won Asia’s Leading Cultural Airline 2021, following on from its 2020 and 2016 awards.
If you have flown into Koh Samui in Thailand the chances are it was on a BangkokAirways flight. If you manage to fly on the airline in the next year you will be flying on Asia’s Leading Regional Airline.
The quality of inflight service is a massive marketing area for many airlines as consumers, especially on long-haul, are looking for superb food and drink offerings.
Winning Asia’s Leading Inflight Food and Beverage 2021 award is therefore a massive achievement fighting off significant competition from Cathay Pacific, singapore Airlines and Thai Airways among others.
It’s the second time that the airline has won the award in three years.
The airline also won Asia’s Leading Airline Lounge (Business Class) for its Golden Lounge @ Kuala Lumpur International Airport.
The two big low-cost airline both went the way of AirAsia this year.
The airline beat off competition from Nok Air, Scoot and Vietjet Air, among others, to scoop the Asia’s Leading Low-Cost Airline Award.
They then added to their trophy cabinet with the award for Asia’s Leading Low-Cost Airline Cabin Crew.
This years Asia’s Most Efficient Airline is the Philippines based Cebu Pacific, who added to their award from last year.
